What to do in Quarantine?

Finding yourself not accomplishing anything? Maybe bored during Quarantine? Finding yourself having major anxiety?

First ask yourselves these questions!

  • What are the 3 things you want to accomplish by the end of the day? Write these down.
  • What are the 2 things that make you happy today?
  • Who should you call or text to check on?

Reading

Try to read everyday for 30 minutes, this can be your favorite book, a religious book, a blog, or a magazine.

Do Yoga (some stretches)

Staying at home and staying put in one place can be difficult, so start your day off with yoga. Yoga has many benefits, like decreasing stress, relieving anxiety, promoting better sleep quality, and increasing strength. There are multiple online yoga classes you can stream right from your phone or youtube. My favorite is the 5 Minute Yoga.

Work From Home in Clean space

When you work from home, a clean space can increase productivity and give you confidence to finish all of your TO DO list . A clean space can cause less stress, even if you don’t initially realize it.

Have FaceTime or Zoom calls with 2 people and rotate them

Call at least 2 people for some social interaction because it can really improve our health and well-being. If you have too much of it, it can cause stress, as well. So 2 people is a perfect number. It can help you stay connected and maintain your relationships. I like using , House Party, FaceTime, and Zoom.

Write

I think writing is very beneficial, especially at this time. Writing down your thoughts in a journal will keep you motivated and can be used to have you reflect on whats happening. It can help you deal with feelings of sadness, anxiety, worries, and other emotions you may have at the moment. My favorite journal to se to reflect is The Five Minute Journal or a plain journal. You can also reflect on the positive things that have happened this year; what have you accomplished? What goals have you reached? What are some goals you’ll be looking to accomplish in the future?

Practice Mindful Meditation

Meditation can be a great form of stress release by reducing anxiety, promoting emotional health, enhancing self awareness, and generating kindness. My favorite app for meditation is Calm. This app combines sounds, music, reading, and guidance in one app.

Learn a new Language

Learning a new language can be fun, and honestly this is the perfect time to start. With all the time we will be staying in Quarantine, you can take an hour from your day to practice a new language. I have been using Duolingo , which is an easy-to-use, app that gives daily lessons in 35 different languages. You can lean Spanish, Italian, Arabic, or French (like what im practicing).

There are many other activities you can start doing like cooking, painting, and more. What are some things you are doing to keep busy?

Try not to spend your time comparing your life with others on social media, it is ok if you feel like doing nothing, as well!!!
